| | Our Jyotish Star of the Month is Pearl Finn of the Emerald Isle of ire. Juliana Swanson of Hawaii has brought us yet again another fantastic interview! I know you will all enjoy it. This is the Jyotish Stars first interview with a Jyotisha from Ireland. Her stories of the ancient history allied with Jyotish are fascinating!
Planetary movement brings us another lunar eclipse on April 4th. And the Sun and Moon will both exalt this month which is always an auspicious time. At one point we will find 4 planets in Aries along with | Saturn still in Scorpio yikes! Five planets in the sign of Mars. Be very careful around fire!
Barry Rosen, well known financial astrologer writes for us this month about the annual Varshaphal chart for the world, when the new moon in Pisces occurs every year. A chart is erected for the capital of a country, when this conjunction of the Sun and Moon occurs, the chart will vary per country by rising sign, and which houses contain the planets. In Mundane astrology this chart is used to predict the events for a country.
(Mundane astrology, by the way, is one of the topics that I will be teaching in Pennsylvania in June at the International Jyotish Kumbha Mela at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in Saylorsburg, PA) Please apply right away as the President of the ICAS (International Council for Astrological Sciences) Arya Bhushan Shukla of India will be one of the main speakers and the conference should fill up very fast.
I would also like to acknowledge ACVA (American College of Vedic Astrology) and thank them for honoring me as the 2014 recipient of the Jyotish Navaratna (the Nine Gems of Jyotish) award, and to thank them for the absolutely beautiful trophy.
Our Jyotish Star of the Month for May will be the renowned Dr. Robert Svoboda of Texas.
With a heavy heart I wish to share our remembrance of Cherie Litman, my mentor and the beloved wife of our Webmaster, Ray Litman here at the Jyotish Star who passed away 16 days after diagnosis, on March 12th.
