|  | Our Jyotish Star for May 2015 is the renowned Ayurvedic practioner Dr. Robert Svoboda. He graduated in 1980 from the Pune Ayurvedic College Tilak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya as the first non-Indian ever to graduate from an Ayurvedic college in India, and also as the first non-Indian to be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India.

Nepal�s experiences its strongest earthquake, (the Himalayan 2015 quake) in more than 80 years! The majority of temples are in ruins, people have died and are trapped on Mount Everest, and thousands have lost their lives. Authorities fear the count will equal the 10,000 lost in 1934 in the Bihar earthquake. So please send your prayers to the ancient country of Nepal. Pundit Samavedula, a sixth generation Vedic Pundit provides us with an article explaining Dasha-Mahavidyas which represent a group of ten aspects of the Divine Mother Durga. The 10 Mahavidyas represent Wisdom Goddesses - who represent a spectrum of feminine divinity. For the next twelve months he leads a group of Pundits in performing these Pujas, with the proceeds going towards building a Hindu Temple in California. Also a Vedic astrologer, we look forward to interviewing him later in the year about his fascinating lineage and background as a Jyotish Star of the Month. The next puja will be May 4th. They are ongoing every month until 2016.
