Nepal Earthquakes |

| Yet again on April 25th at 11:56:26 am NST, with the initial quake at a magnitude of 7.9. Nepal experienced earthquake devastation completely destroying many cities by what is being called the Nepal 2015 or the Himalayan earthquake, and then followed by a flurry of aftershocks, also at high magnitudes. Approximately 5,000 or more lives have been lost to date, and expectations are that this number will double. Entire towns have been destroyed and are in rubble. Eighty percent of the temples were lost, including Durbar Square in Bhaktapur. (Kathmandu Valley, Nepal) Expected by experts who noted the long interval since the last devastating quake in 1934 where over 10,000 people were lost that another big quake was imminent due to the geology of the area along with population, urbanization and architecture. We erect the earthquake chart in mundane astrology for the epicenter location. USGS gives the epicenter at 21 mi or 34 km east-southeast of Lamjung, Nepal. Casualties triggered by this very large quake also occurred in adjoining areas, China, India and Bangladesh.

So many people have asked me how this could happen with Jupiter exalted? If you look at the event as transits over the Nepal as a Republic chart, you will see that it is going through the,6th house from the Aquarius Moon, and is in a Maraka house from the Capricorn Lagna. With Taurus Sun, Jupiter is not a functional benefic for the country chart, it has become a functional malefic from all three lagnas. I have seen women whose natal charts have Aquarius rising, with Jupiter lord of 2nd and 11th houses, get breast cancer with this kind of a Jupiter transit.
