The Jyotish Star March 2013
Editorial by Christina Collins
Our Jyotish Star of the month is Sri Kotamraju Narayana Rao (K.N. Rao) of New Delhi, India. Juliana Swanson of Hawaii, recently spent an afternoon in India with this great teacher and we are blessed and fortunate that he has given the Jyotish Star a rarely granted interview. On a personal note, I am grateful for the time I have shared with this great master, for his great knowledge of Jyotish.
I especially loved hearing the stories of his early training, beginning at the age of twelve (1943), initiated by his late mother, K. Saraswani Devi, a brilliant and renowned Hindu astrologer in her own right. Author of the Journal of Astrology and numerous books, you will enjoy this rarely granted and appreciated interview! | | |
For our Planetary Tips Fans. In March Sun Venus and Mars will move from an air sign (Aquarius) to water (Pisces), Venus will exalt and Mercury will go direct, (an improvement from Februarys five planets, Saturn, Rahu, Sun, Mercury, Venus, posited in air signs) and the explosions, high winds and wild weather patterns should calm down.
Also in March we present an article on observing the elements, Air, Fire, Earth and Water in studying the compatibility between individuals and groups.
A new feature that we plan to present from time to time, is a column with advice to astrologers for the Astrologer in Practice. This month we present Please Dont Call Them Readings! by Charlotte Benson.
Our April Jyotish Star will be Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary the Keynote speaker for the upcoming NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) conference in Albuquerque New Mexico beginning April 18th. I am honored to be presenting Medical Jyotish and Longevity as well. Be sure to check Vedic Venue for details of the NAMA conference as well as the BAVA (British Association for Vedic Astrology) which is also in April, in London. The ACVA President Dr. Bill Levacy (who recently received his Ph.D in Education) will be one of those presenting at BAVA 2013.
