Venus - What You Love

Venus rules over what we love, what fills our emotional hearts! The sign your loved ones' Venus (or even their Moon who rules over desires and emotions) resides in will illustrate what kind of gift they will be thrilled to receive. (Plus, everyone loves to know more about themselves, so couple your gift with a session from your favorite (or their favorite) astrologer.

Venus in Aries can be self-centered love, and wishes for immediate satisfaction and resolution. Like a child of 7 might love, then turn right around and say get out of my yard I hate you, then be best buddies the next day. Candy is a great gift for Aries, instant gratification!

Venus in Taurus is in its own sign and can be hedonistic and physical (cuddly and touchy feely) a warm sweater, a stuffed puppy or even a real live puppy would make the Taurus person happy!

Venus in Gemini in in the sign of best friend, Mercury and love becomes intellectual and curious. Books, magazine subscriptions Jyotish sessions, or a new TV! Perfect for Gemini � a gift of knowledge.

Venus in Cancer is love of nurturing and being nurtured and can be narcissistic. Cooking classes, gourmet food gift certificates, music lessons or even a new car will delight our Cancer friends!

Venus in Leo is in the sign of an enemy and can be vain or egotistical there, or can get �burnt� by being in the sign of the Sun. Yet often this Venus is a sun lover � so a gift to somewhere warm, sunny and by the beach or a photo session where they can have keepsake photos of themselves (or with others) done.

Venus in Virgo is in debilitation where love becomes puritanical aloof and detached. Virgo placements need the �green� of Mercury. So an emerald if your budget allows, or a nice green shawl or green plants for their environment will sooth the Virgo love factor.

Venus in Libra is in its own sign and Moolatrikona. Venus acquires balance and creativity here. Art supplies, art classes, body paint, a camera or an individual and/or couples massage are in order!

Venus in Scorpio is passionate, sensual and intense or overwhelming and often musical. Erotic books, art, a weekend away from the city and other people. Musical instruments, concert tickets or a trip to a city near or on the ocean, orchids, sensual flowers and chocolate fit the Scorpio nature.

Venus in Sagittarius has a huge love of freedom and loves scripture and giving advice to others. A hiking or camping trip, a baby sitter for the weekend to get away anywhere to feel that love of freedom. Sagittarius would also love a nice dinner out, so they don�t have to cook or clean up. You could even set up an evening with others who might want to ask Sagittarius spiritual advice.

Venus in Capricorn is detached and practical, gifts are less likely to be flowers and candy and more likely to be a bag of coffee, a coffee grinder or an expresso machine. (Capricorn is ruled by Saturn who rules the �bitter� taste). Capricorn might also like yoga classes where the end result of the gift is self-improvement.

Venus in Aquarius love intellectual repartee, modern out of the box new age thinking and thinks of others before self. As the evolved �air� sign, they love to fly. So tickets to a secret destination, hang gliding, or zip lining are all exciting gifts for unusual Aquarius!

Venus in Pisces where Venus exalts, is romantic, poetic, possibly mystical, and sometimes musical and often indicates wealth. (Venus Exalts and is best placed in Pisces.) Spiritual books, a Jyotish session, a booking with a Channel where they can talk to the Ascended Masters, a weekend seminar with an inspirational teacher or even an aquarium with fish will delight the Pisces persona!

Christina Collins, Jyotish Visharada, CVA, Jyotish Kovid, ICAS and CVA, Jyotish Vachaspati, ICAS ,Jyotish Medha Pragya, ICAS and Jyotish Mahasagara from Raman and Rajeshwari Foundation 2013, is a third generation Astrologer specializing in the Vedic system. As a founding member, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American College for Vedic Astrology (ACVA online), and was former Editor of the ACVA News.
