Saturn and Jupiter Exalted |
| by Vachaspati Christina Collins Right now, since June of 2014, exalted Saturn in Libra throws its 10th aspect on exalted Jupiter in Cancer. Or exalted Guru will be in a Kendra (angle) from exalted Saturn in Libra. The last time this occurred was 60 years ago. The next time it occurs will be 60 years from now. Every 30 years, Saturn returns to its natal position in a birth chart. Every 60 years Jupiter and Saturn both return to their natal position. This is one reason why the 60th birthday is so celebrated in India. In a way it is like a 2nd birth for many of the natal planets return to their position of birth. You have also experienced the transit of Saturn through each of the twelve houses, bringing the long life lessons of the experiences of that house, and its meaning to you, incarnated here on earth. Twice! This Saturn transit of 30 years, then another 30 is also respected in the lives of Jyotishis (Vedic astrologers). It means that we have observed how Saturn behaved through each of the twelve signs for all people. Meaning that we observed Saturn�s transit results through each of the 12 houses as well. When we have done this twice, or been astrologers for 60 years, then hopefully we know what we are doing! Of course this means beginning training quite young. If you have practiced for 30 years, then you are blessed, for you can have a pretty good idea of what a coming Saturn transit will be like. And, equally informed of what the axis with Jupiter will produce. What must be considered of utmost importance this time, in 2014, is that Jupiter aspects Ketu in Pisces and Ketu in Pisces aspects Jupiter in Cancer. This is a dramatic spiritual transit. Ketu is moksha karaka (enlightenment significator), in the moksha sign of Pisces, aspecting exalted Jupiter � transit is capable of producing enlightenment or elevated states of consciousness for mankind. We will be watching closely the new souls born in this year�s transit of Guru as well and the spiritual potential that their incarnations will bring. Once my teacher, Maharishi�s Guru Dev said to the masses that there is a bottle neck for incarnations, that the highly evolved souls cannot arrive for incarnation�(I paraphrase) well, this will bring them in now, and all of us have laid the groundwork by meditation for years, to smooth out planetary energy for their arrival. (That is my personal opinion of course). I believe that the reason they make such a big deal of the 60th in India is that the soul/individual has experienced the transit of Sani through the entire zodiac twice. It is an indicator of personal growth, and personal survival. For people born in late 1954 and early 1955 this 60th birthday is now occurring. (A great many of our so called �Baby Boomers�.) So you will see great blessings and potential spiritual progress for those individuals, considering their charts and which houses (1 through 12) that the natal Saturn and Jupiter reside. Each will be different of course. I think perhaps that those born this year, 2014, and have this mutual return 60 years from now will be even more spectacular, I will have to research that. Let�s see. The chart above on the left shows 1954 (when Jupiter was where it is today (July 16th 2014 as I write) by degree, and Saturn within 2 degrees � both will seldom be exact in degree at the same time each transit because of the shape of earth. You will see the difference is that the last time these exalted teacher planets were there Ketu was in Gemini and Rahu was in Sagittarius. Air and Fire signs. The right side of the chart above shows 2014 with Ketu in Pisces (Jupiter�s sign) Water (Brahmin) and Rahu Virgo in Earth. The nodes are karmic in nature. Rahu what we are here to learn, Ketu what assists us. The ruler of the Rahu and Ketu are how the karma is expressed. So you look to their sign and house positions, and where the ruler of each is posited in a chart to judge the karmic lessons an individual is here to learn. In 1954 Ketu was in the sign of Gemini ruled by Mercury who presides over the intellect and communication. Rahu was in Sagittarius, the sign of Jupiter, the planet of Wisdom, Knowledge, happiness, and wealth. Jupiter presides over the Devas. (Venus conversely the Asuras � wealth and materialism) so many people were born in 1954 and 1955 with the exalted Saturn and Jupiter � and had the karma to bring us communication to aid in learning such as the internet. And karma to bring us inner communication and teachings of a spiritual nature. For in 1954/55 we note that neither Rahu or Ketu aspected Jupiter until the nodes moved to Scorpio and Taurus and their signs of debilitation. (September 2, 1955) So for the beginning of the Jupiter exalted transit (along with Saturn exalted), neither node aspected Jupiter and Ketu aspected Saturn. When the nodes moved � Ketu to Taurus and Rahu to Scorpio, then a debilitated Rahu sent its trine to exalted Jupiter and Jupiter mutually sent trine to Rahu. This is perhaps a bit of a material or wordly transit forming Kodando Rahu. And for the rest of the exalted Jupiter and Saturn transit, until October 1st of 1955 (excepting the monthly 2 week transit of the moon) there was a reverse Kala Sarpa yoga in place. The next time this happens will be in 2072 (using Jupiter at the degree it is now at this writing and projecting 60 years) at that time, the �enlightenment� factor will shift to a material/profitable energetic. Jupiter exalted will be aspected by Sani and also will be aspected by the conjunction of Rahu. This conjunction is a Kodanda Rahu yoga � which creates the experience of financial gains. (Any time Jupiter and Rahu aspect or influence each other this yoga occurs. The exalted Jupiter in the sign of banking and fixed assets, Cancer � will create utopian energy. And of course those baby boomers born in late 1954 and in 1955 could well live another 60 years as enlightenment comes forth on the planet in the next 60. They would of course only be 120! The average span of life in Sat Yuga. So the bottom line is NOW is the time to work on cultivation of the self. Ketu and exalted Jupiter in mutual aspect with Saturn also exalted will not happen again for hundreds of years. This is truly our chance to exercise our free will and either strengthen or jump on the spiritual path of our choosing! Christina Collins Biography:
