September 1st to September 30th 2016 |
| by Vachaspati Christina Collins September begins with an annular Solar eclipse in Leo with the conjunction of Moon, Sun and Rahu opposite Ketu. Jupiter well on its way into Virgo conjunct retrograde Mercury in exaltation in Virgo with Venus in Virgo (Neecha Banga raja yoga in place as the aspect of exalted Mercury cancels the debilitation of Venus who does poorly in the sign of Virgo). Mars in its own sign of Scorpio finally moving past the degree of Saturn but still close enough in degree conjunction to cause earth changes and imbalances as they both aspect the earth sign of Taurus, and additionally Saturn aspect the earth sign of Capricorn. When they were both exact on the 24th of August (see August planetary tips) the predicted chart was very close to the time of the devastating earthquake in Italy that killed hundreds of people. At the time of that earthquake (for those who follow trans Saturnian outer planets Uranus was unstable at 00�05 Aries and on September 1st it will have retrograded back to 29�59 Pisces � and it will go forward again in direct motion until December 20th, 2016 and will enter Aries again on April 7th 2017. This time in conjunction with Mercury and Mars. September 1 New Moon and Annular Solar Eclipse visible in Madagascar and partial eclipse visibility in Africa. This eclipse forms with the conjunction of the Leo Sun with the Leo Moon and Rahu, the North node of the Moon in close conjunction. Rahu, the head of the �snake� or �dragon� has two aspects, intelligence because the head holds the brain, and poison because the head holds the fangs and poison. So, even though the Sun transits this month through its own sign of Leo, it is poisoned by the presence of Rahu. And, without the benefic influence of Jupiter who has now moved to Virgo. In addition as this eclipse occurs, the Sun�s greatest enemy, Saturn will throw its 10th aspect on the Sun with less than a degree of difference. (Saturn will be at 15�58 and the Sun and Moon will be at 15�15. And of course Saturn is influenced by Mars in its own sign within a few degrees of Saturn in Scorpio. So the earthquakes and fires will continue in the early weeks of September. Be especially careful around fire during this transit. This eclipse occurs in the nakshatra Purva Phalguni/Leo. So it is wise to avoid this nakshatra for muhurta or electional dates for a period of 6 months after the eclipse. (you can cautiously use the Sign Leo, just not the P. Phalguni nakshatra. To view a short eclipse video representation, go to: http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2016-september-1 September 2, 3 and 4th the Moon will join Jupiter, Venus and exalted Mercury in Virgo giving a conjunction of the four benefics. This will be very nice for the signs of Virgo and Pisces. Note that on the 4th, the beneficence will be weakened by the combustion combination of the Sun conjunct Rahu, both at 18 degrees. September 8, and 9th Mercury becomes very unstable as it retrogrades back into Leo, once again joining Rahu which clouds the intellect. These days are not good for important matters especially with intellectual properties, signing documents, marriage, etc. Mercury retrogrades back into Leo the morning of the 9th. Also note, this makes Venus in Virgo Neecha (debilitated and weak) again. September 12 Mercury will retrograde back into exact combustion with the Sun. and the Capricorn Moon will be 6th from the Sun and the Sun will be 8th from the Moon. (6/8 axis or enemies and misery). Note that Mars in Scorpio will be in a kendra (angle) from this combination at the nearly same degree, 26�51. The upcoming lunar eclipse on the 16 will bring difficult experiences, especially for Leos and the challenges begin with this combustion on the 12th. September 15 Sun will hit the weak (sandi) degree of 29 Leo as it moves farther from its enemy Rahu and closer to its friend Jupiter in Virgo. September 16 Mars becomes sandi at 29�00 Scorpio as it prepares to move to Sagittarius. September 16 Penumbral Lunar eclipse This eclipse will be strongly impactful on the sign Leo and somewhat on Aquarius. Leo loves to �shine� and will feel held back, restricted and weakened. Not a day for exercise of a strenuous nature. I mean golf and yoga too! Although eclipses can be transformational (without the interfering �radiation� of the Sun we can meditate during an eclipse and make profound spiritual progress) it is not recommended to go outside or have curtains open especially if pregnant. * The Moon is below the horizon during this eclipse, so it is not possible to view it in Washington DC. Visible or partially visible in: Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, West in South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Arctic, Antarctica. This eclipse will list for 3 hours and 59 minutes at begins at 12:54:22pm EDT. When this eclipse occurs, the Sun will be changing signs. Do NOT drive or take risks of any kind during this transit. September 17 the Sun reaches strength at 1 degree of Virgo in Conjunction with best friend Jupiter (many feel that the Jupiter/Sun conjunction is the strongest of all combinations of 2 planets) so this is good news for Virgo who has had their 7th lord Jupiter transiting their 12th house of loss for a year. Also good for the other earth signs Capricorn and Taurus who have been enduring only the aspect (dristi) of Saturn for a year. And best of all for Pisces who receives the aspect of Jupiter to its own sign of Pisces for the next year � relationships and partnerships improve for Pisces with ruler of the 1st in the 7th instead of ruler of the 1st in the 6th (dustana or difficult house)! And, at 18:56:22 Venus becomes sandi (weak) at 29�00 Virgo as it prepares to leave for its own sign: Also on September 17 At 22:14:28 Mars Moves to Sagittarius! September 18 Venus Moves to Libra So you can see above that September 15th through 18th will be very intense, with strong and sometimes dramatic experiences. So we bear our karmas gracefully (or grin and bear it!) and know that with the Sun and Jupiter transiting together for the rest of the month, and Mars finally moving away from Saturn that the planets are stabilizing a bit. Good in particular for Pisces who will now receive an aspect from all of its best friends, its ruler Jupiter, the Sun (5th Lord from Pisces) and Mars (9th Lord from Pisces). September 22 Mercury goes direct at 20�44 Leo moving away from Rahu and Ketu at 19�32 September 25 Sun will combust Jupiter by degree, the Moon will be in its own sign of Cancer, and will receive the aspect of Mars from Sagittarius. (the Yogakaraka for the Cancer moon � so this can be good and not just a Chandra Mangala yoga. September 27th, 28th and 29th the Moon will move into Leo with Rahu and Mercury. Classic mental illness in a chart is when Mercury, Rahu and the Moon reside natally in house six. So, for these three days when the rising sign is Pisces and for those who have Pisces rising, Moon, Sun or several planets in Pisces this will be difficult on the intellect and the mind � causing confusion for many and aberrant behavior for some. Do not sign important documents or have medical procedures under this transit (that goes for everyone, because the healer/doctor may be Pisces even though you aren�t and they could miss something in treatment. September 30 today we have a nice conjunction of three friends, Sun, Jupiter and Moon. Virgos might want to check in with their astrologer, depending upon the rest of the transits and the time period running Virgos are going to feel a lot better than they have in the last year!
