Planetary Tips

September 1st to September 30th 2014

by Vachaspati Christina Collins

We begin September with Jupiter in Cancer in the final days of blossoming Pushyami nakshatra, Venus just barely moved to Leo, the Sun in Leo, Mercury exalted in Virgo conjuct Rahu in Virgo, Saturn Mars and Moon in Libra and Ketu in Pisces.

September 2 The Moon will move to Scorpio and its debilitation (neecha) will be cancelled because it receives the trinal aspect of exalted Jupiter (neecha banga raja yoga).

September 3 Jupiter will be the same degree as the Sun, 16°32 at midnight, by 3 am Mars becomes sandi at 29° Libra at 2:15pm, then Jupiter moves to Ashlesha nakshatra (Mercurys star).

September 4 Mars moves to its own sign of Scorpio.

September 8 Full Moon in Aquarius

September 12 the Sun will be the same degree as the nodes at 25°26. The nodes, of course are the shadows we call eclipses. There will be lack of clarity, even depression on this kind of blocked feeling kind of day.

September 15 Sun becomes sandi at 29°00 Leo and Mercury and Rahu/Ketu transit one degree apart.

September 16 the Sun will leave its own sign and move into Virgo another unstable day and also note that Rahu, Ketu, Mercury and Saturn all transit at 25 degrees. Also, Jupiter and Venus are both 19 plus degrees. This is a status quo day, even with Jupiter, Mercury and Saturn transiting in exaltation. It is common to feel overheated or lethargic on this kind of transit.

September 19 Rahu, Ketu and Saturn will be the same degree at 25°24. As Ketu transits 6th from Saturn (house of accidents) and Rahu transits 12th from Saturn (house of hospitals). With the powerfully positive Hamsa yoga of exalted Jupiter and the Moon in Cancer in its own sign it might be easy to take risks, drive too fast, not pay attention to detail especially as Mercury becomes sandi at 29 as it leaves exaltation -- so please keep in mind to be aware of your surroundings before you get behind the wheel and while you are driving. Be hydrated, be grounded.

September 20 Mercury moves into zero degrees sandi Libra and into conjunction with exalted Saturn.

September 22 10:20pm EDT Autumnal Equinox Happy Fall!

September 24 There are many things happening this day, Venus becomes sandi at 29 Leo, and the New Moon will be in Virgo. Sun, Moon and Rahu reside together in conjunction. Outwardly this appears like a solar eclipse. It is true that Rahu or Ketu conjunct the Sun and Moon brings an eclipse. However, it is important to note the lunar orbital plane the nodes of the Moon or Rahu and Ketu are the point where each of the two orbital planes meet. So we must importantly observe the degree of Rahu and Ketu. The Sun must be much closer than 7 degrees when the nodes are 25 degree at the time of new moon, in order to call it, or observe it as an eclipse. Stay tuned next month on October 8th there will be a lunar eclipse. And it will be total. Viewable (not that this is recommended without proper gear to protect your eyes. and is very dangerous . . . astrologically it is draining and not recommended energetically.) from the western coast of the USA and from the East coast of Australia. By 22:00 Venus will move into debilitation at zero Virgo.

Next month will be one of the full red moon eclipses! Stay tuned!
