September 1st to September 30th 2013 |
| by Christina Collins September begins with a nice Gaja Keseri yoga of the Moon with Jupiter in Gemini. Gaja means elephant and Keseri means lion, and a form of this yoga occurs 12 days each month when the Moon is conjunct Jupiter, and when the Moon is in the 4th, 7th and 10th houses from Jupiter. (in an angle from Jupiter). It also occurs 4 times a day when the rising sign is in an angle from Jupiter. Currently, that would be lagnas of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. The idea is that the angles from Jupiter create a situation of strength. Jupiter in Ardra nakshatra which is powered by Rahu has produced a dominant quality of materialism to Jupiter for some time, and as Jupiter moves to its own star Punarvasu on September 2nd , we will see the beginning of a shift towards more of a spiritual outlook. Each nakshatra has a symbol, and for Ardra it is a teardrop. The governing quality belongs to Isa who associates with wind and destruction. To Ardra belongs suffering and cruelty. Punarvasu, on the other hand governed by the goddess Aditi boundless infinity -- Punarvasu represents truth, generosity and purity -- freedom from restrictions and limitations a much more positive energy for Jupiter. The Sun, now in its own sign of fire sign Leo, will be combust (too close) to Mercury for the first few days of this month. Thinking may not be cool and calm. Add to this condition that the Sun and Mercury are currently transiting between two debilitated planets (Mars in Cancer and Venus in Virgo) causing a form of Papa Kertari yoga. (The scissors yoga where there is a malefic planet on either side of a planet either in the same house or as in this case in adjacent houses). Further, these also are the current rulers of the karmic planets Rahu and Ketu. Also, Saturn though exalted in Libra, has Venus the ruler of Libra transiting in the 12th from Libra, in debilitation. While this does not cancel the exaltation of Saturn, it will still weaken Saturns power. So until Venus moves to Libra on September 6th this is not a good time for new ventures or negotiation. September 2 Jupiter moves to Punarvasu September 3 Moon moves to its own sign of Cancer temporarily (for about 3 days) cancelling the debilitation of Mars who transits in Cancer. (Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga) September 5 there is a lot of action on the 5th of September, Mercury and Venus will both lose power. They will be at 29 and then 00 degrees as they both changes signs, thankfully for the better. September 5 Mercury becomes sandi in Leo moving towards exaltation September 5 Venus becomes sandi at 29 Virgo leaving debilitation and moving towards its own sign of Libra. September 5 New Moon at 19°01 Leo this new moon will have some challenge as it first becomes exact when the rising (In Washington DC), Mercury and Venus will all be sandi at 29 degrees. September 5 Mercury will exalt in Virgo. Because of Mercurys faster motion, it will actually reach 00°00 Virgo while Venus still resides in Virgo. a few hours later Venus will also move to Libra. September 5 Venus moves to Libra and now only the ruler of Ketu (Mars) remains debilitated. September 10 On September 10th the Moon moves into debilitation in Scorpio for a couple of days. For approximately two weeks the Moon will transit between the nodes breaking the reverse Kala Sarpa yoga. (when all of the planets are outside of the nodes, Rahu and Ketu.) September 13 Mars moves into Ashlesha, Mercurys star. September 15 Sun becomes sandi and weak at 29°00 Leo September 16 Sun moves to 00°00 Virgo September 18 Rahu, Venus and Saturn will all be conjunct at 14 degrees Libra (and Ketu at 14 Aries by opposition). This conjunction will still be receiving the tight 4th aspect from Mars in Cancer, and Moon, Cancers ruler will be in a 6/8 axis. (Moon will be in the 8th house, Aquarius from Mars and Mars will be in the 6th house Cancer from Moon). The 6th house rules over enemies, and the 8th house rules over misery and chronic disease. So this combination means that we can make some foolish mistakes around love, money or both. Delay decision making until Venus moves past 14 degrees late in the day on September 19th, finally breaking the reverse Kala Sarpa (snake of time) yoga for some months to come. September 19 Full Moon in Pisces. This is the beautiful Harvest or Corn moon as named by native Americans. Giving nighttime light to assist in harvesting crops. Be sure to go out and take a nice long Ayurvedic look at the Moon. Next month the full moon will be eclipsed (not advised to gaze at that one!). September 24 Mercury moves to 29°00 Virgo beginning to leave exaltation September 25 Mercury moves to Libra. The best news about this month, is that Mercury will exalt, Venus will move to its own sign. Jupiter will aspect Venus by trine most of the month, and the reverse kala sarpa yoga will be cancelled at last. Tune back next month for the information on the two eclipses and Sun joins Rahu in Libra. Christina Collins Biography:
