March 1st to March 31st 2017 |
| by Vachaspati Christina Collins March begins in the USA with a sandi lagna and a sandi Mars in the 6th house. Saturn and Jupiter both aspect the 12th house of loss, Saturn and Rahu aspects the Sun, Mercury conjunction in the 3rd (also difficult and the 3rd is 8th from the 8th. At least 3 benefics Jupiter Moon and exalted Venus are in mutual aspect. We will have a new annual chart this year with the new Moon in Pisces and it looks like a pretty tough year for the USA. Even with the exalted Venus in Pisces, it still falls in the 6th house of enemies, as do the Sun and Moon. With the 7th house of partnership having Mars in its own sign, with enemy Mercury it looks like a warring chart to me. March 1 This will be a difficult day. Just as Mars moves into its own sign of Aries, sandi at 00°00 degrees (no strength), the Moon in Pisces will be balarishta at 2957. Balarishta means infant mortality, if you survive your birth it is Grace of God. There are three of these, when a planet, especially the Moon or rising sign, transit in the last degree (29) of a water sign. From Cancer to Leo, from Scorpio to Sagittarius, and from Pisces to Aries. The last is the most treacherous because it is also leaving the Zodiac to begin anew in Aries. Jupiter is the planet of luck and good fortune, and its dispositor, Mercury is tightly hemmed between Malefics Ketu and Sun and in the 6th house of accidents from Jupiter (as the karaka for good). This means thinking may be pitta (hot and fiery) based and making a wrong decision is likely. We could see air, water and fire disasters this day. Not good for selective surgery either. Mercury will be in charge, it is Wednesday, Mercurys day. In addition, Saturn will be aspecting the Mercury, Ketu and Sun and for those who follow the outer planets the Sun and Neptune will be the same degree. Take it easy, pranayama, meditate. Not a good day for communication. March 3 Venus, in exaltation in Pisces will go Retrograde. There are different schools of thought on the retrogradation of planets. My view, is that if they are benefics Venus, Jupiter and well associated Mercury, then the situation is good because they are there longer. Especially if they are in their own sign or exalted. When malefics retrograde, it is challenging bad because they are there longer, and of course more difficult when they are in the house of an enemy of debilitation. Either way, planets become stronger and stronger means just that, stronger to do good, or stronger to have a troubling effect. Also, it must be considered their functionality. Natural benefics can become functional malefics and Natural malefics can become functional benefics. Jupiter and its time periods can be challenging for some, and Mars and Saturn can be fantastic for others. This is dependent upon the house rulership. For example, if you take a Capricorn rising with an exalted Saturn in Libra, depending upon the rest of the chart as a whole, Saturn can perform well and function as a benefic. The Sun and Moon are always in direct motion, while Rahu and Ketu are always retrograde. March 4 and 5 The moon will be exalted in Taurus receiving the aspect of Jupiter, and Venus the ruler of the exalted moon will also be exalted in Pisces. So, that is two exaltations, both aspected by Jupiter, along with Mars who will be strong in its own sign of Aries. March 10 Mercury becomes sandi and weak at 29°00 as it moves towards debilitation at 3:56:17. March 10 Mercury moves to debilitation in Pisces at 16:07:22. This year is a bit more fortunate, because Venus stays exalted all month, it will cancel the debilitation of Mercury and both best friends of each other will also receive the benefic Jupiter aspect. March 10 At 23:1617 the Moon will be conjuct Rahu in exact degree in Leo opposite the Sun and Ketu conjunction in Aquarius. This has the appearance on paper to seem like an eclipse of the moon, but the degree of the Sun has advanced too far from the Shadow planets or Nodes. To sensitive people (like astrologers who can feel when a rising sign changes signs) this might feel like an eclipse does, when energies feel low. Either way, with Rahu aspecting both the Moon and Mars, it is a day to slow down, balance pitta and not make important decisions. March 12 DLST begins at 2:00 am where clocks change to 3:00am March 12 Full Moon in Leo March 12 there will be a Jupiter/Moon conjunction or Gaja/Keseri Yoga in Virgo. It will be better than the Moon/Rahu conjunction the previous 2 days, but still will occur in the 8th house from the Sun. the 6/8 axis of planets often brings struggle and difficulty. March 13 The Sun weakens in sandi degree of 29°00 as prepares to transit into Pisces March 14 the Sun Moves into Pisces at 00°00. It will remain weak until it reaches 1 degree of arc. We have 24 days a year when the sun is weak or changing signs, once every month. March 20 6:29 am Vernal or Spring Equinox March 20 17:53:50 Uranus becomes sandi at 29°00 Pisces for those neo vedic astrologers among us. March 26 6:11:32 Mercury becomes sandi at 29°00 Pisces (the weakest degree of the zodiac). The last degrees of a water sign, is called balarishta and leaving Pisces, the end of the zodiac 29th degree is the most difficult of the three balarishtas (Cancer to Leo, Scorpio to Sagittarius, and Pisces to Aries) March 26 11:03:50 Mercury and Uranus will both be 29°18 in exact degree in Pisces March 26 22:05:30 Mercury moves to 0000 Aries March 27 10:57pm New Moon in Pisces Annual Varshaphal chart for the USA This Annual Chart is set up for the Capitol of a Country at the exact time of the New Moon in Pisces every year. The reason we use Pisces new Moon is because the Sun is in the actual sign of Pisces. When we refer to the Sun an any given sign, other than Pisces, we are talking about the apparent path of the Sun which is direct in motion. The Sun retrogrades from its position as it goes from age to age. When it moves back a sign, it will move into Aquarius. Then we will have the age of Aquarius, while now we are in the age of Pisces. For the USA Varshaphal chart Lagna Libra Saturn in 3rd in Mula Nakshatra (Ketus Star) Ketu in the 5th in Aquarius Sun, Moon, and retrograde exalted Venus in the 6th house in Pisces Mars in its own sign of Aries conjuct enemy Mercury in the 7th house Rahu in the 11th (at least somethings good) 11th is the best house for Rahu Jupiter in the 12th house in Virgo (an enemy house for Jupiter March 29 Moon will be in Aries hemmed between Mercury and Mars. This will be a hot temper time especially for pitta type events or people. Decisions should wait. March 30 the Moon exalts in Taurus (high exaltation is 300 Taurus), its ruler Venus will also be exalted in the 11th house from the Moon and Moon will receive the aspect of Jupiter as well.
