June 1st to June 30th 2015 |
| by Vachaspati Christina Collins We begin the month of June with Sun in Taurus conjunct Mars and retrograde Mercury all in close degree in Rohini, the Moon in papa ketari yoga hemmed between malefics Rahu and Saturn. Rahu in Virgo with Ketu in Pisces continues for the rest of the year. Their nature will change when Jupiter moves to Leo in July and Ketu no longer receives the aspect. Jupiter continues exalted in Cancer conjunct Venus which has just entered Cancer. These two planets are both benefics but Jupiter is much happier in the sign. Saturn continues in retrograde motion in Scorpio where in my opinion the retrograde is good, as Saturn is retrograding back toward its sign of exaltation, Libra. It will turn direct at 4 degrees and will not completely make back to Libra. This month will see flooding and water/earth issues as Jupiter reaches exact degree of Uranus with Saturn, Ketu, and Venus, and of course Jupiter itself, all in the water signs. June 2 12:19pm Washington DC is our exact Full Moon with the Sun in Taurus and Moon in Jyestha Nakshatra in Scorpio. In some countries this is Wesak or Vesak, the celebration of Buddhas Birthday, other countries celebrate Vesak when the Moon is Full in Taurus and the Sun is in Scorpio. June 11 Mercury goes direct June 14/15 Sun and Mars will both become sandi at 2913 exact. This is a tough situation when Mars is combust (burned up energetically from closeness to the Sun) even though the Sun and Mars are friends, planets are weak when they are changing signs. Air disasters often occur when Mars approaches Gemini. So unless you have to, dont choose to fly. (and if you do have to fly, as I do, then travel early in the day if you can, when you are more likely to be rested. June 15 the Sun moves to Gemini followed shortly by Mars June 16 the Moon joins the Sun and Mars in Gemini and initially all three are sandi at zero degrees just prior to the new Moon. On Tuesday, Mars day. June 21 Summer Solstice at 12:39pm EDT. A summer solstice is the longest day and shortest night of a year, and it happens as the tilt of earth's semi-axis is in the northern or southern hemisphere and is most inclined toward the Sun which earth orbits. This happens twice a year, and when the Sun hits its highest position in the sky as viewed from the North or the South Pole. This happens between June 20 and 22 each year. Our 2015 solstice occurs on June 21st. June 22 Jupiter will reach the degree of Uranus in Pisces in a trinal aspect. If you are researching or use the outer planets, this may bring sudden and unexpected flooding, especially as there will be four additional planets in Water signs, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Ketu Look forward next month as Jupiter changes signs to Leo!
