Planetary Tips |
February 1st to February 29th 2012 |
| by Christina Collins February begins with exalted Moon conjunct debilitated south node, Ketu in the Taurus Ascendant (Washington DC, 00°0000). Now some view the Ketu as temporarily cancelled (neecha banga raja yoga) by virtue of the fact that it is in an angle from the ascendant or Moon. Another neecha banga cancellation of debilitation is when a debilitated planet is aspected by an exalted planet. So, Moon, exalted in Taurus conjunct Ketu would logically cancel the debilitation of the Ketu. It may be so. However, just to be on the safe side, when I construct muhurta (auspicious dates for action) charts I am not using days with the Moon transiting in Taurus, while Ketu and Rahu are transiting debilitated. Also, not when the Moon is in Scorpio, (also a debilitated position) conjunct debilitated Rahu (North Node of the Moon). Two debilitated planets in conjunction, even in an angle (houses 1, 4, 7, 10) dont sound like a good idea in a chart where you desire good outcome and results. Having said that, this same scenario with Venus transiting in Pisces (where it will transit in a few dayson February 3rd) would be a much stronger neecha banga. The ruler of the Ascendant or Lagna, the Moon and the debilitated Ketu would be disposited by the exalted Venus. Of course when this happens on the 3rd, Moon will be sandi on its way towards Gemini, and Venus will be sandi, not reaching 1 degree until the Moon has completed its transit to Gemini. So, not so good for muhurta on the 3rd. and the same goes for Tuesday, February 28th, when although the Moon will be in high exaltation at 3 degrees Taurus, Venus will be 29°00 Pisces (an extremely unstable degree not only leaving Revati the last Nakshatra, but also leaving Pisces to begin the zodiac anew at 0 Aries. Remember this tip for next year. The nodes will have changed to Aries / Libra, Jupiter will be conjunct the Moon in Taurus, and Venus will be exalted in Pisces in March of 2013. Mars in Leo continues its retrograde motion until the 13th of April, when it finally goes direct. Saturn continues exaltation in Libra (and powerfully enhanced when Libras ruler Venus moves to exaltation especially when Venus is in Saturns star Uttara Bhadrapada.) February 3 through 5th the Moon will be in Gemini, 6th from the Sun, and the Sun in Capricorn will be 8th from the Moon. Although the Moons transits in the upachayas (houses 3, 6, 10 and 11) from the Lagna or Moon, can produce great results shy away from these days for important actions when the Moon is also transiting 6th from the Sun. February 6 Purchase or make your Valentine a gift on this day. Mercury may be combust the Sun, but their dispositor Saturn will be exalted, the Moon will be in its own sign in Pushyami (ruled by Saturn), the exalted Saturn will aspect the Moon, by its 10th aspect and, of course, Saturns dispositor, Venus will be exalted. (and, in Uttara Bhadrapada, Saturns star). Keep in mind that Saturn will go retrograde on February 8th, yep, and its going to go back into Virgo before it goes direct again on the 16th of May.
Keep in mind, that the most malefic transit which can cause the most drama is when a planet retrogrades back into the former sign, then moves across that point again when going direct. Meaning, that the May 16th, July 16th, August 3rd, and August 4th transits of Saturn will be more dramatic than when it formerly changed signs. Emphasis on the May and July dates, as the transiting Sun will also be sandi at the same time! And yes, this means that those with Moon, Lagna or Sun in Leo, will once again be in sadi sati from May 16th until August 4th 2012. The Moon will also be in Gaja Keseri yoga when Jupiter is in an angle from the Moon or rising sign. This is not that rare, it happens 12 days a month, with all Moons in Kendras from Jupiter, and 8 hours (out of 24) each day, when Jupiter is in an angle from the Lagna. Example: with Jupiter in Aries, Gaja Keseri occurs with Moon and/or Lagna in Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. The chart below would be good except that it is 5 oclock in the morning, the Moon is in the 8th house, and has low ashtakavarga at 21! In general the day will be good. Creating strong muhurtas must involve the divisional charts so that you can strengthen the main chart when it is weak. For those of you using, or learning the outer planets on Thursday, February 9th Venus will be conjunct Uranus in Pisces by exact degree 8°08. And Moon will be conjunct retrograde Mars. This produces a kind of love energy that is more chemistry than enduring. Also be careful driving this day. February 02 Venus sandi at 29 Aquarius February 03 Venus sandi at 00° Pisces (exalts!) February 08 Saturn goes Retrograde February 10 Mercury sandi at 29°00 Capricorn February 11 Mercury sandi at 00° Aquarius February 12 The Sun sandi at 29 degrees February 13 The enters 0°00 Aquarius. February 14 Happy Valentines Day! February 20 Maha Shiva Ratri February 22 Mars will exactly aspect (by 8th aspect) Venus at 23°19 February 24 A nice Venus Moon Conjunction in Pisces February 26 Mercury sandi at 29°00 Aquarius February 27 Mercury sandi at 00°00 Pisces (debilitated) Note: Mercury conjunct Venus, exalted is neecha banga, and cancels debilitation until Venus moves to Aries.
