| by Vachaspati Christina Collins We begin the month with a Cancer Sun and Mercury, and with a sandi debilitated Mars in Cancer, though in the USA month�s chart it is canceled by being in an angle from both the lagna and the Moon. Jupiter has moved three degrees in Leo as Venus continues its retrograde motion in the sign of an enemy (the Sun). Rahu and Ketu continue in their Virgo/Pisces axis and the big news is that Saturn will go direct on the 2nd. This means of course that Saturn will become less powerful, no longer retrograding back towards its sign of exaltation, yet more malefic as it has lost the aspect of beneficial Jupiter from exaltation in Cancer. Since March, Saturn has received the aspects of benefic Jupiter, and karmic Ketu (both trine and aspect 5 and 9 houses away). Now we have a situation where Ketu in Pisces, who also has lost the aspect of Jupiter, aspects Saturn, Mars the Sun and Mercury, and Saturn aspects Jupiter, which puts Saturn in a strong, though not as positive position. This adverse situation will influence Pisces (where Ketu Transits, Virgo the opposition sign of Ketu in Pisces and most adversely Scorpio who receives the aspect of both Ketu and Saturn, and has lost the assistance of benefic Jupiter. On a positive note, transiting Moon and other planets as they move through Sagittarius will be a more positive transit than in the last year as Jupiter aspects from Leo. For the Sagittarius, this new transit of Jupiter in Leo will be an improvement as the ruler of the sign transits in the good 9th house. Also the sign become improved for use in murhurtas. Still, when the Moon transits through Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio individuals and the world will experience roughness. Moon conjuct Rahu is difficult, Moon in Libra will form papa ketari yoga (hemmed between the malefics Rahu and Saturn) and sadi sadthe (transiting 12th from Saturn or Saturn will be 2nd from the Moon). Then in the Sign Scorpio, the moon will be not only debilitated but also conjunct Saturn. This of course is true of a moon transiting through Sagittarius, but the situation is much improved from last year as we have the ruler of the sign in Leo in the 9th Leo instead of in the 8th dustana from Sagittarius. August 2 Saturn goes Direct in Scorpio August 3 Mercury goes sandi at 29°00 Cancer. People with Mercury in cancer automatically worry more than others, when this transit occurs, this increases, and will also cause worry for many regardless of the position of the natal Mercury. August 4 Mercury moves to Leo joining best friend Venus. As Jupiter now also resides in Leo this makes a conjunction of three benefics � great for our Leos and creativity increases for the fire signs. And creativity with intent, purpose and manifestation for Saturn also throws its aspect on Leo (as it will the entire one year transit of Jupiter through the sign) giving structure and focus of intention and success in creative ventures. August 11 Venus will become sandi at 00°59 in its retrograde motion back toward the sign of Cancer. August 13 Venus will be 00°00 Rx in Leo as it retrogrades back toward the Sun at 26°20 Cancer. Postpone big decisions, especially about love, romance and impulse spending this week. At 8:02°20 it will retrograde back to 29°00 of Cancer. August 14 New Moon, Sun and Rx Venus once again joining debilitated Mars will be all be in Cancer. The Moon, though good in its own sign, not only has lost the benefic connection with exalted Jupiter but also endures papa ketari yoga hemmed between malefics Sun and Mars. August 17 Sun will move to Leo to Join Jupiter for the first time in 12 years. Sun/Jupiter in Leo is a classic conjunction for physicians, and with a Saturn aspect as well. We should see some powerful potential doctors born this month. August 22 Mercury becomes sandi at 29 Leo as it heads toward exaltation. August 23 Mercury exalts sandi at 00°00 in Virgo August 26 Jupiter and Sun in Leo conjunction will be exact at 9°16 of Leo August 28 Mercury and Rahu will both be 7°04 Virgo August 29 Full Moon in Aquarius with the aspect of Jupiter September 1 Exact conjunction of Venus and Mars in Cancer.
