Planetary Tips

August 1st to August 31st 2014

by Vachaspati Christina Collins

August 1st we begin with Saturn finally going direct again, although conjunct Mars -- at least by wide degree and not yet sharing the same nakshatra. Mars in Swati can cause some fierce winds, tornados etc. especially when aspected by Saturn. This will increase the closer that Mars gets to Saturn. We should see tornados on the rise, as well as possible Tsunamis. (Because of the additional transit of Jupiter and Ketu in Water signs).

Jupiter continues in grand exaltation in Cancer as the Sun moves out of combustion (at least 8 degrees past the degree of Jupiter).

Venus is in Gemini, Mercury in Cancer. Rahu and Ketu at the beginning of their transit in Virgo and Pisces.

August 7 Venus will move to 29 degrees of Gemini.

August 8 Venus will join the Jupiter, Mercury and the Sun in Cancer. When this happens, EDT the rising sign will also be Cancer. This increases the possibilities of floods, though the Saturn aspect will assist in restraining this tendency.

This conjunction will last until August 12th .

August 10 Full Moon Super Moon (when the Moon is closer to Earth it appears very bright and will seem bigger. Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1KKpeW231Y&feature;=youtu.be The next one will be in September.

August 11 Mercury becomes sandi at 2900

August 12 Mercury Moves to Leo

August 13 Rahu, Ketu and the Sun will be in the near same degree. Not a good day for decision making.

August 15 the Sun becomes sandi at 29 Cancer

August 16 The Sun moves into its own sign of Leo.

August 18 Jupiter and Venus will be in Cancer, with the ruler, Moon, exalted in Taurus. Sun will no longer be sandi. So three exaltations, Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon along with the Sun in its own sign. This is a good day for benefic ventures, love, romance, helping other. There will still be a Mar/Saturn conjunction denoting war . . . so be kind to others, and to yourself.

August 22 another good day on many levels. Moon in Cancer in own sign, conjunct exalted Jupiter and Venus - yet Mars and Saturn 2 degrees apart. This can produce self-righteousness, and neediness. Hopefully the Sun in its own sign of Leo will throw some love into the mix.

August 23 to August 25 Mars will be nearing the same degree as Saturn which is planetary war.

August 25 New Moon in Leo. This is an iffy Monday, if you have to drive, leave early for your destination. Venus at 22 degrees, Mercury at 23 degrees, Rahu and Ketu at 26 degrees and the Mars Saturn conjunction almost exact at 23.

August 26 Mars moves a degree past Saturn.

August 28 Mercury becomes sandi at 29°00 Leo (headed towards exaltation!)

August 29 Mercury exalts in Virgo. That makes Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury all exalted in the sky! (note that until a sandi planet moves to one degree instead of zero, it is still considered weak)

August 30 Venus becomes sandi at 29°00 Cancer

August 31 Venus Moves to Leo.

August 30 and 31 the Moon with be with the Saturn Mars conjunction forming sadhesati and Chandra Mangala yoga respectively. The Moon is consciousness sitting with planetary war (Mars with Saturn). Because this is summer, Pitta season, and these are Pitta type yogas, take time to both exercise and have a peaceful mind. Do not engage in debates with others it is a time of conflict.

Next month the nodes and Saturn will be the same degree so plan on completing your building projects in August, and dont begin them in September.
