Planetary Tips |
August 1st to September 1st 2013 |
| by Christina Collins We begin this month with a nice exalted Moon in Rohini. The Sun is at midpoint in Cancer, the Moon exalted and Venus transiting in Leo. However, we must continue to endure 4 planets transiting in Rahu Nakshatras. Jupiter and Mars in Gemini in the nakshatra Ardra, and Saturn exalted and Rahu in the star Swati. Ketu, who is always opposite Rahu is in Aries in the Artha star Bharani ruled by Venus. As the nodes act like who they are associated with, in other words what planet aspects them, or the ruler of the sign that they are positioned in, they can be challenging in a mundane sense when they transit in their own star. As Rahu transits in the Artha star Swati then karma (Upagrahas Rahu and Ketu pertain to karma. They of course are created by the earths shadow and known predominately as eclipses. The law of karma is that what goes out returns. Perhaps not in an identical manner but it can be similar. So when both Rahu and Ketu travel or transit through Artha quality stars -- who preside over finance, we can expect macrocosmically and microcosmically that money and financial matters will be forefront. Now, this can be positive and/or negative. And like the nodes, it can be up and down or high one day and low the next. Currently Jupiter from Gemini aspects Rahu, and Rahu aspects Jupiter (mutual aspect) which creates a financial or materialistic yoga called Kodanda Rahu. This yoga makes Jupiter more materialistic than spiritual. And, as we watch the financial markets and house sales improve we are witnessing this yoga in real time. Add to this factor that Ardra is in a Kama star and Kama nakshatras pertain to Happiness and pursuit of fulfillments of desire. So we can expect that while both Jupiter and Rahu are in their current stars, the desire to succeed financially on all levels will be present and on the increase both personally and in the world. This month Mars will move into debilitation in Cancer. And, Venus will move into debilitation in Virgo. When these two planets of Passion and Love move into the sign they operate weakest and most unproductively of their particular manifestations (Mars what you feel and act passionate about, Venus Love, materialistic and creative focus) then both will become impotent to manifest in their highest manner. Further, they are the current dispositors of Rahu (Venus ruled Libra) and Ketu (Mars ruled Aries) And, with the current reverse Kala Sarpa yoga in play (all of the planets between Ketu and Rahu) we may feel that we are missing opportunities for gains in love and material matters (Venus) and we may feel like we are running in place instead of manifesting our goals and ideas (Mars). This situation improves after September 19th (even though this is a month prior to the next eclipses) when Venus moves to 15 degrees of Libra and breaks the reverse Kala Sarpa. (Rahu and Saturn will both be 14 degrees that day). August 2: Sun changes from Punarvasu to Pushya August 3: Mars changes from Ardra to Punarvasu August 3: Mercury goes sandi at 29° Gemini as it leaves exaltation August 4: Mercury changes to 00° Cancer still in Punarvasu August 6: Mercury changes to Pushyami August 10: Venus goes sandi at 29° Leo August 11: Venus enters debilitation at 00° Virgo August 15: Sun goes sandi at 29° Cancer August 16: Sun changes to own sign at 00° Leo August 19: Mars moves to 29° Leo August 20: Mars moves to debilitation at 00° Cancer. The 18th, 19th and 20th will prove a difficult transition for Mars and though it will lessen air disasters, by leaving Gemini, the combination of Jupiter in an Air sign (along with Saturn and Rahu, still in Ardra) combined with Mars debilitated in water will mean that danger associated with water (boating, cooking, bathing, swimming, etc) will be on the rise. Stay focused when cooking, dont swim without a buddy. August 20: Mercury moves to 29° Cancer August 21: Mercury moves to 00° Leo August 23: Moon will be in Mercury ruled Revati, the last nakshatra and balarishta (water moving into fire, the most challenging of the three Cancer to Leo, Scorpio to Sagittarius and Pisces to Aries). Couple this with Mercury combust the Sun in Leo, 6th from the Moon, or put another way in 6/8 axis from each other people will be accident prone. And, with Mars in Cancer (Cancer rules the stomach) please do not take risks with what you eat. If you are not vegan or vegetarian, then avoid seafood. This continues through the weekend. August 24: The Sun will combust Mercury by degree and Moon enters the final degrees of Pisces as it changes to the fire sign of Aries. (This is why the 3rd change of a planet from water to fire in Pisces is the most difficult of the three, for it is not only leaving water and changing to fire, but also ending the zodiac to begin anew in Aries.. The chart is more difficult on Saturday than yesterday (the 23rd) for the Sun/Mercury conjunction is exact by degree. However a planet casts a shadow the days prior to exactness. So take care over this weekend. September 1: Jupiter will enter its own star of Jupiter, the beautiful Punarvasu. The transit of Jupiter in its own star will be much better in this star than it was when highly challenged in Ardra. (the plane crashes that went on in July). Christina Collins Biography:
