April 1st to April 30th 2016 |
| by Vachaspati Christina Collins We begin the beautiful month of April, a time of spring and new beginnings with Venus having just entered exaltation in Pisces, where it conjuncts the Pisces Sun and cancels the debilitation of Mercury. Venus, as the planet of love, beauty, publishing, vehicles and wealth is often found exalted or in own sign of Taurus or Libra in the charts of poets, writers and prosperous people. So expect to feel inspired, creative and romantic. Venus transits within 60 degrees of the Sun and combustion occurs as Venus is within 10 degrees of the Sun. Because the Sun moves faster than Venus, it will change signs to Aries before Venus catches up to a conjunction, the closest Venus gets to the sun is 14 degrees. What will occur this year though, is that Venus transit will be more material than spiritual or romantic. With the ruler of Pisces (Jupiter) transiting in the 6th house of service and how we serve the dharma from Venus, being influenced by materialistic Rahu in Leo we may be more inclined towards making money, business and success principles. Especially on April 6th, 7th and 8th when Venus moves through debilitation in Virgo in the Navamsas. Rahu and Ketu remain in Leo and Aquarius and the Jupiter Rahu conjunction continues in its angular influence to the waring Mars/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio. Mars will be in close conjunction with the ascendant when the month begins, and Saturn, now retrograde (increasing Saturns power) aspects Jupiter in close degree. So that makes a lot of retrograde noise. Rahu and Ketu are always retrograde, and now Jupiter and Saturn retrograde as well. Mars, particularly onerous when it goes Retrograde in any sign will join the other three in Retrograde motion on the 17th. Life experiences will feel powered up and tightly wound, with a frustrating result as the retrogrades will create slow to manifest and sluggish energy. March 31 Venus moved to Pisces at 18:00:56 (cancelling the debilitation of Mercury) April 2 Mercury goes sandi at 29 Pisces and later in the day moves to Aries. So, April 2nd is not a day to make big decisions. Though you may well want to, because Jupiter now aspects Mercury as well. Just wait a few days for anything major. April 3 Mercury will reach a degree in Pisces at 6:26:51 am April 4, 5 and 6 The sun will be transiting in the same or within a degree of Jupiter and Saturn, this is especially difficult when the Sun reaches 22, the degree of enemy Saturn on the 5th , while at the same time the moon is within a degree of conjunction with Ketu, similar to the recent eclipses. further, add to this situation that this is a Tuesday, the day belonging to Mars be sure to do some yoga or at least light stretching for your health (Saturn rules bones, Mars rules muscles, and Sun vitality). April 7 Today is the annual Varshaphal chart for each country. Also known as the New Moon in Pisces chart. A Mundane chart is erected for each country using the latitude and longitude of the capitol city. The planetary placements by sign will be the same, though the planets will reside in different houses depending upon the rising sign. USA 2016 Annual Varshaphal New Moon in Pisces Chart The USA annual chart for 2016 has Aries rising at 814. Although Mars is in own sign and Venus exalted, the houses where they reside are challenged. The USA last year had 38 ashtakavarga points in the 1st house of self. This year, we have the bare minimum of 25. The 7th house of partners and contracts has only 16 points which is very weak for connections with the public and/or allies. It can mean that we must come to the aid of someone whom we are in alliance with, or it can mean that others are too weak or unable to come to the aid of the US. I would expect it to be the former, as the 10th house, the most powerful angular house holds a vast amount of power with 42 points in Ashtakavarga, which is very strong, yet the ruler of the 10th, Saturn although strong in retrograde motion, and strong as a Karaka in the 8th house is still not a friend to Aries rising (as ruler of house 11) or Pisces rising (the Sun and Moon placement, where it rules the 11th and the 12th ) We have had many charts where this kind of a chart led to warring factors. Aries rising with Mercury on the degree of the ascendant (both are 8) is often seen in the charts of explosions, wars, and even was present when President George W. Bush took the oath of office. I remember thinking, that looks like war chart to me. and so it was. As an astrologer, I like to give uplift and a happy outlook, but this year we see a very troubled annual chart. The luminaries residing in house 12, with only 22 points in ashtakavarga reads very weak for ruler of the 4th and 5th houses not to mention that lord of the 4th and 5th in the 12th is not very strong for happiness at home. Even the parivartana yoga of Sun and Jupiter takes place in house 5 exchanging with house 12. Also from Chandra Lagna the exchange is between 1 and 6, both dustanas. However, there are 33 points in ashtakavarga in the 4th from the Moon, which strengthens the US and even if difficult events happen this year at home, recovery and strength at home exists as well. Even though we begin the year with exalted Venus, it is still the 2nd and 7th house rulers in the 12th, and at onset Venus debilitates in Virgo in the navamsa. USA Country Chart There are many country charts for the USA. Mr. James Kelleher, did extensive research, reading journals of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence and even finding the time of day (just before supper) that the final signator completed signing. I find this chart works. Note the degree of the Sagittarius lagna, 858 Another chart to consider is the annual varshaphal chart (progression) for the United States, and comparing the countrys new moon chart to the Country chart and also its Varshaphal chart. The progression for 2015 is still in play until July when it changes to the 2016/2017 Varsh. Here we see the same lagna, Aries, and note in the New Year New Moon chart the degree of the transiting Venus, Ascendant and Mercury are all around 8 degrees, which is the degree of the current Mun (muntha is the progressed rising sign from the Tajika system, it progresses a sign a year with the solar return of a person, country or event. So with the USA Kelleher chart of 1776, when the Sun returned to 2239 Gemini, the Muntha would be Capricorn rising in 1777, then Aquarius rising in 1778 and so forth. You will see below , that the 2015/2016 annual chart has Scorpio rising which is the 12th house for the USA country chart Left: USA Varsh. 2015/2016 Right: Country Varsh New Moon in Pisces I feel that when the USA chart has its solar return in July, and the Muntha returns to Sagittarius, the natal lagna that the annual new moon in Pisces chart for April 7th will improve a bit. I just dont like it that the lagna of the USA natal chart is being triggered by degree in the 1st and 12th houses in this years 2016 annual New Moon in Pisces chart. Saturn retrograde and in the 8th house is very powerful, and transiting with Mars, both in an angle from the Nodes, coupled with Rahu in Leo the sign of Leaders and Kings could spark a very long war. Right now Rahu is supported by a good Jupiter, but when Jupiter leaves Leo in August, and enters Virgo (the 6th house of enemies) in the annual New Moon Chart, just prior to the next set of eclipses on September 1st (solar) and 16th (lunar) we will see much conflict in the USA, perhaps even to the point of another war. From our side, we must choose love. When we feel we are going into conflict with another person stop, feel your heart and feel love. That light is the one thing that can combat darkness. April 12 The Sun goes sandi at 2900 Pisces. This is one of the difficult points in the zodiac, balarishta when the Sun moves from a fire sign to a water sign. Of the three (Cancer to Leo, Scorpio to Sagittarius) the most challenging is Pisces to Aries for not only is the sun moving from water to fire, but it is also ending the zodiac and beginning anew in Aries. April 13 The Sun moves to Aries in exaltation April 14 &15 the Moon is in its own sign of Cancer. April 17 Mars goes retrograde in Scorpio. And it is practically sitting still, it will stay around 14 degrees until the 28th of April. So check your planets around that degree in Scorpio, Aquarius and Gemini, and note what house it is from the lagna, for those planets and/or houses will be influenced by this Mars. April 22 Full Moon in Libra, with the ruler, Venus in exaltation April 25 Venus moves to Aries at 1:21 am and Mercury becomes sandi at 2900 at 5:19 am this happens early on a Monday morning, be careful driving this day. April 28 Mercury goes retrograde right before it was going to change signs, and will continue in retrograde motion until May 22nd when it will go direct at 2015 This could be a month for good muhurtas for business, especially mid month. Happy Spring everyone, feel the Love!
