Planetary Tips

April 1st to April 30th 2013

by Christina Collins

We begin the month of April with Scorpio rising and neecha banga Moon, aspected by Jupiter who rules the Sun, Mars and Exalted Venus conjunction in the 5th house of love, mantra meditation and purva punya. Saturn and Rahu continue in Libra, with their ruler Venus in exaltation in Pisces. Mercury in Aquarius is also in good form, as Saturn, its ruler is exalted.

Ketu in Aries, ruled by Mars is also conjunct exalted Venus. This is a good time to follow your passions and to seek new love, or rekindle existing romantic pursuits.

April will be a good month to learn to meditate, or even go for further training -- on retreat, or to take self-discovery or self-development courses, as we head towards a very spiritual annual Varshaphal.

April 8 Mercury becomes sandi at 29 as it heads towards Pisces

April 9 Mercury moves to Pisces at 00 degrees. However its conjunction with Venus in exaltation cancels debilitation. (for one day, as Venus moves to Aries the next day. Fortunately, this occurs after the annual Varshaphal.

April 10 at 5:35:15 am, Washington DC, the Annual Varshaphal chart (new Moon in Pisces) begins with a 5 planet (6 is you are counting Uranus) conjunction in Pisces in the 2nd house. Sun and Moon of course (new Moon) along with Mars and Mercury whose debilitation is cancelled (Neecha Banga Raja Yoga) by the presence of exalted Venus. Some of the strength of this combination will be weakened because Venus and Mercury will both be sandi (just changing signs) with Mercury at 00°44 and Venus at 29°52. Sun, Moon, Mars and Venus, in the late degrees of Revati combine in a possibly challenging Balarishta (infant mortality), condition. (Balarishta is when the Sun, Moon or Rising Sign (lagna) are at the last degree of 29 (some feel it begins at degree 28, or even 27 ) for a water sign, just as it begins to enter a fire sign. An infant born in this type of moment, who survives birth, is said to have grace of God ) this happens at 29° Cancer, 29° Scorpio and 29° Pisces. Pisces is considered the most challenging of the three signs as it not only is water changing to fire, but also the end of the zodiac changing to a new beginning in Aries.)

This conjunction will fall in either the 5th house or 4th house of the United States horoscope, depending upon whether you are using Scorpio or Sagittarius rising. The lord of the stellium in Pisces, Jupiter resides in the 4th house of Taurus with strong (30) points in ashtakavarga, and the lord of the 4th, Venus is exalted in the 2nd. This parivartana yoga (Jupiter rules Pisces, and Venus rules Taurus they exchange houses which they rule. This is called mutual reception in the West) involving the 2nd and 4th should be good for earnings and real estate in the United States. (The annual Varshaphal chart is erected for the capitol of a country when the Sun and Moon are in the same degree or new. I believe that it will also be a spiritual year, as the ruler of the 1st (Aquarius) and the 12th (Capricorn) is exalted in the 9th, with very high (40) ashtakavarga points in the 12th. Combine this with 6 planets in the 12th sign of Pisces I believe that we have a spiritual year with lots of interesting changes ahead.

April 10 Venus moves to Aries, at 8:01:03 .

April 11 Mars becomes sandi at 29 Pisces.

April 12 Mars moves to his own sign of Aries. The Sun becomes sandi at 29 Pisces (Balarishta) and the most difficult Sancranti in the zodiac. (Sancranti means the Sun changing signs)

April 14 this Sunday night is a good date night as there will be a close Venus/Mars conjunction in Aries and a Moon/Jupiter conjunction with the Moon exalted in Taurus in Rohini. (Saturday night has the same conjunction, but the Sun will be Sandi and changing from water to fire in Pisces so plan your date night for Sunday evening instead, after 7pm (EDT) when the Sun has achieved one degree of arc.

From the 14th to the 21st, Mars and the Sun will be in a tight conjunction. In Aries, this may mean huge fires. Especially as Saturn aspects from exaltation in an air sign by opposition! Please take caution with fire.

April 25 A partial Lunar eclipse of the full moon in Libra. We will be between eclipses (the solar eclipse is May 9th, 8:23 pm EDT) so avoid important dealings and new beginnings.

April 27 Mercury will become sandi at 29 Pisces (in debilitation). This is on a Saturday night and the transiting Saturn will be aspecting the Sun in Aries within 1 degree, and the Sun is still combust Mars within a degree. This is NOT a time to drink and drive!

April 28 Mercury moves to Aries (an enemy sign) and Saturn is aspecting the Sun in close degree at 14 degrees. The moon is debilitated in the 9th from Venus (enemies) in near the same degree of 22. Jupiter is at 22 as well, opposite a debilitated Moon at almost 22. This is a take it easy dont push yourself weekend!

Venus will be moving to its own sign of Taurus in a few days! Much calmer than Venus in Aries!
