The Passing of Zig Ziglar |
| By Ray Litman |
Many of us aspire to be a leader or a mentor. In most cases Mr. Ziglar was the leader's, leader. He was the mentor's, mentor. Form the people I have spoken to over the years, Zig didnt just perform on stage, he lived the the life that he inspired others to live. He didnt just teach it, he lived it. He was positive. He was hopeful. You just never heard anything negative from Zig. There is no question that Zig Ziglar was truly motivated and pleased to be helping other people reach their dreams and successes. His first book, See You At The Top was written more than 40 years ago and is still on point today. If you havent read it make sure it is on your reading list and that you do read it. Mr. Ziglar was and will remain a great inspiration to us all. His wisdom, faith and inspiration will live on through his books and audio recordings. Our thoughts and prayers are to his family in their loss. Zig is survived by his wife Jean, his son, Tom Ziglar; and daughter Cindy Ziglar Oates. Zig and Jean, his Red Head were married 66 years on Monday November 26th. Since Mr. Ziglars fall a few years ago, I have been listening to his son Tom and enjoyed his many talks and the people he has brought forward to speak. But, I still replay tapes, CDs, MP3s and reread Zigs books. As I stated there is something very special and uplifting when you listen to Zig Ziglars voice. We normally end all of our blog posts with suggested reading material. But with Zig you must hear that voice. Here are a couple of audio recordings that will introduce you to the man!
[Editors astrological notes] by Christina Collins My Grandfather who was born in 1897 was a scholar, gentleman farmer and a Biblical Astrologer. He made use of astrology for timing of planting crops, and he also enjoyed Zig Ziglar. Grandfather (or Grandpa as we called him) used astrology for understanding human nature as well...and he taught the timing system of astrology to me. He also taught me from the Christian Bible Ecclesiastes 3 New International Version (NIV) A Time for Everything There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace and he taught me..."where is God not?" Astrology is my profession today, and the inspiration of Zig is partially why I am positive. He is credited with the quote today is the first day of the rest of your life. Grandfather lived to be 99, and Zig 86. They were two of the many great people who have inspired me. So I say another thank you to both. We dont know the time of birth for Zig Zigler, who was born in Coffee, Alabama so I have used his Moon chart as the rising sign. And a thank you goes out to Steve Stuckey for finding the coordinates for me for the hospital in Coffee. Of course this is rectification, and if Zig was born prior to 4 am his Moon will be in Libra rather than Scorpio. However, as he died from pneumonia, the Chandra Lagna of Scorpio makes more sense. (for Scorpio rising the 8th house of longevity, or death is Gemini which rules over the lungs, and Zig Zigler died from pneumonia.) His pasing was announced on his FaceBook page at 7:58 am (MST?) on Wednesday, November 28th, the day of his death, stating that he had died that morning in a suburb of Dallas in a hospital in Plano, Texas. At this time, we do not have the exact time he passed, so I used the announcment time, which incidentally was Scorpio rising, the sign of his natal Moon. Even if he died an hour or so earlier, Scorpio rising is still the likely lagna of passing. When you compare the charts you will observe that many of his natal planets were being contacted by transiting Planets. He was in sadhi sati of his Moon, Surya sadhi sati of his Sun. Mars, at 14°40 Saggitarius transited over his natal Ketu of 15°38 Saggitarius, aspecting by opposition his natal Rahu, in the 8th house of death and transition in Gemini. Further, Saturn threw a 3rd house aspect to his natal Mars within 3 degrees. He was likely in Rahu Dasa when he passed, although the exact bhukti and antaradasa are in question without the exact minute of natal birthtime, which we dont have. Additionally, the transiting debilitated Rahu at 2°03 Scorpio was within orb of close conjunction of his natal moon which was approximately 2 degrees of Scorpio. Just the fact that Saturn and Mars, planetary enemies, who were within 2 degrees of each other by transit were hemming in his natal Moon (papa ketari yoga) can cause illness and even the end of life, and transition from this world. Zig Ziglar is credited to have coined today is the first day of the rest of your life and now he has passed into and a time for peace, as it states in Ecclesiastics. We are richer for his inspiring presence in this world and the legacy of his prolific writings that he left behind. We wish him well as he embarks on his new adventure! Ray Litman Biography:
