The Jyotish Star March 2011

by Vachaspati Christina Collins

March this year brings a myriad of changes. The Vernal Equinox ushering in Springtime, Holi, Easter, the annual varsh, New Moon Chart in Pisces the chart we use in Mundane Astrology by making the location, the capital of a city or country in order to predict outcome and trends, and the Ayurvedic time for purification and the change to a lighter diet begins.

Your March issue features Vedic Astrologer Juliana Swanson, of Hawaii who gave us a wonderful interview, with her favorite top ten books list for studying Jyotish, and who happily reports that all is fine on the home front, and to quote her recent email, what a wild ride this life is! Hawaii, as you know, had a 4.6 earthquake following the March 9th Sendai earthquake in Japan.

We report on the recent earthquakes and Tsunami in
New Zealand and Japan, and as the events increase, which I expect them to do, I will be sending email updates as they occur.

Note that the nodes of the Moon, Rahu and Ketu, who are always in retrograde motion, will be reversing soon into debilitation, and as they hit the degree of malefics, for individuals, countries and cities beginning with the Nama sound Ka (Kah) (as in Christina, Christchurch, California, Calcutta just to name a few) will continue to be potentially adversely influenced. This sound associates with the sign Gemini.

We at the Jyotish Star wish all of our readers well, send our prayers to those who are suffering with hopes that they stay warm and safe as we experience these shifts in the earth and consciousness.
